Pros
  • ✓ A chewable tablet that dissolves in the mouth, which is where an oral-health ingredient needs to work.
  • ✓ Postbiotics are stable: unlike live probiotics, they do not depend on surviving storage, heat or saliva.
  • ✓ Contains xylitol, the most researched tooth-decay ingredient in this category, and cranberry, which has promising lab research against cavity bacteria.
  • ✓ One tablet a day, a one-time payment and no subscription.
  • ✓ Free US shipping on the three- and six-bottle packages, according to the order cards.
  • ✓ Promotes a healthy oral microbiome by introducing beneficial bacteria to the mouth.
  • ✓ Supports gum health and helps reduce inflammation or sensitivity.
  • ✓ Enhances natural teeth whitening through the inclusion of malic acid.
  • ✓ Provides long-lasting fresh breath by targeting the root cause of odors rather than masking them.
  • ✓ Supports overall respiratory and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) health.
Cons
  • ✗ No ingredient amounts and no bacterial strain designations are published, so nothing can be checked against research.
  • ✗ Postbiotic research for tooth decay is early: 18 of the 21 studies in the review the vendor cites were lab experiments.
  • ✗ The "FabM acid-lock" story is not backed by any study of this product, and the review the page cites does not mention FabM.
  • ✗ Testimonials describe no longer needing gum surgery and root canals - risky messaging for people with bleeding gums.
  • ✗ The 60-day refund window ends before the 3-6 months of use the vendor recommends, and you must return all bottles at your own postage cost.
  • ✗ Contains xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs, so the tablets need to be kept away from pets.
  • ✗ Oral probiotics do not replace brushing, flossing or a dentist - established gum disease needs clinical treatment.
  • ✗ CFU counts per individual strain are not published, and probiotic benefits are strain-specific.
  • ✗ 3.5 billion CFU is modest next to many gut probiotics, though oral dosing is not directly comparable.
  • ✗ The finished lozenge has not been through a published clinical study.
  • ✗ At $79 it is far more expensive than toothpaste or mouthwash, with a 60-day guarantee.

Comparison Analysis

On paper these are almost the same purchase: a daily chewable for gums, breath and teeth, $158 for two bottles, $207 for three and $294 for six, and a 60-day guarantee. The difference is what is inside — and how much each one tells you about it.

Live bacteria or inactivated ones

ProDentim is a probiotic: live strains — Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus reuteri and Bifidobacterium lactis BL-04 — meant to settle in the mouth, plus inulin and malic acid. DentaBiome is a postbiotic: inactivated Lactobacillus plantarum, salivarius and rhamnosus and the compounds they produce, with an unnamed enzyme blend, xylitol, purple carrot and cranberry. Postbiotics are more stable on the shelf; probiotics can keep working between doses.

Transparency

ProDentim publishes its total bacterial count, 3.5 billion CFU, though not per strain. DentaBiome publishes no amounts, no strain designations and no list of the enzymes in its "BioFresh" complex. Neither has a published trial of the finished product.

Evidence

Oral probiotics have a modest but real body of human trials. Postbiotics for teeth are earlier: in the 2025 systematic review DentaBiome itself cites, 18 of 21 studies were lab experiments. DentaBiome's best-supported ingredient is xylitol, which works best at several grams a day — more than one tablet is likely to hold. Its "FabM acid-lock" story has no study behind it for this product.

The sales pages

DentaBiome's is the more troubling: a fictional narrator, testimonials about no longer needing gum surgery or root canals, and a claim of "zero risk". Bleeding gums need a dentist, whichever supplement you choose.

Verdict

ProDentim. Same price, same guarantee, more disclosure and a stronger evidence base — it scores 3.6 on our rubric against DentaBiome's 2.8. DentaBiome is only the better pick if you specifically want a non-living formula, and if you have a dog, remember that it contains xylitol.
