How we research, score, update and correct our reviews.

How We Review a Product

Our reviews are based on research. For each product we:

  • read the seller's sales page, order page and checkout, and record the prices, package sizes, shipping costs and refund terms as they are listed;
  • compare the listed ingredients, and the amounts where the label gives them, with published studies, and note when a product does not disclose its doses or contains less than the studies used;
  • describe the studies behind each claim; our ingredient pages list their sources, mostly peer-reviewed studies in PubMed, and reviews and guides link to those ingredient pages;
  • check which website is the official one before we link to it.

We do not run laboratory tests on products, and a review is not a substitute for advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

How We Score

Every product is scored with the same five criteria: ingredient transparency, strength of evidence, value for money, guarantee terms and buying experience. Value and guarantee are calculated from the price and the refund period; the other three are our judgement, and each review explains them. The weights and definitions are on our How We Score Products page.

What We Say Plainly

  • When the evidence for an ingredient is weak, preliminary, or comes only from animal or laboratory studies, we say so.
  • When a sales page makes claims we cannot trace to research, or uses countdown timers and stock warnings that do not reflect real scarcity, we point it out.
  • When a supplement could interact with medicines, or a symptom needs a doctor rather than a supplement, we say that too.

Independence

We review products whether or not they score well, and we link to the official order page for the products we review, including low scorers: the score and the verdict tell you what we think, not the presence of a buy button. We earn a commission through those links (see our affiliate disclosure). Commission rates differ between products and are not part of the score. No seller reviews or approves our content before it is published, and we do not accept payment for a review or a ranking.

Keeping Reviews Up to Date

Prices, packages and refund terms change, so each review shows the date it was last updated, and we re-check the seller's pages when we update it. If we can no longer confirm a working official order page, or a product is no longer sold, we remove our buy buttons and say so on the review rather than send you somewhere we cannot check. In October 2026 we re-checked every review, ingredient page and guide against its sources and corrected claims that went further than the evidence.

Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us or email connect@healthandwellnessstudies.com. We check it against the source, correct the page and update its date.
